A tradition like no other

47 years old and still going strong, unofficially referred to as the Starbucks League because a cup of coffee is needed this early in the morning!

Saturday mornings starting in mid-December to the end of February.

This is an SJB tradition - but it’s so much more.

• It’s the perfect way to warm up your winter Saturdays – early-morning hoops in a fun but competitive environment.

• It’s a full court with glass backboards.

• It’s real officials.

• It’s a full-size electronic scoreboard and clock.

• It’s a (semi-) professional scorer’s table.

• It’s real basketball for teams made up of players from grades 3 through 6 (3rd- & 4th- graders play the 1st and 3rd quarters; 5th- & 6th-graders play the 2nd and 4th quarters).

• Many players also play CYO basketball.

• It’s camaraderie, good sportsmanship and good friends.

• And, of course, it’s coffee and donuts (and a variety of other refreshments at our snack bar).
